I think this article is too sensationalist. The second paragraph alludes to it: “First off, this isn’t true of all vegetarians and vegans. It’s usually those that eat a whole foods diet full of fruits, vegetables, soy, beans, nuts, seeds and free of processed foods, that enjoy the most weight loss.” You can lose weight and be very healthy by eating whole foods (including healthy meat cuts) instead of refined foods high in processed carbohydrate, sugars and filler products. It’s worked for me. I also know at least 2 vegans, that you wouldn’t think were vegas by the way they looked, not obese, but quite tubby and not the svelte model you’d think of, if you thought of the term ‘vegan’. While I won’t disagree on the point that a pure vegetarian diet will probably yield better weight loss, this article seems to seems to negatively paint meat products compared to their vegetarian alternatives. Salmon has a lot more Omega3 content, which has been expanded upon to be very beneficial to one’s health. If you’re more active in sports or even doing light weights, lean meats are best bang for your buck for balanced nutrients you need to fuel growth.
To be clear, by “hard” I didn't mean difficult; I meant more like “hard-core” or “hard as opposed to soft.” I use the term to set science-centered science fiction from more main stream novels in which science plays a lesser role, or is even sometimes labeled “fantasy.”
But maybe you meant you'd also like to see novels in which science plays ANY role, even a minor one.
For example, A Wrinkle In Time might not be considered “hard” science fiction, but it would still be considered general science fiction. So maybe you mean you'd like to see more books like A Wrinkle In Time as opposed to just pure fantasy?
Yeah, it's kind of like a "director's cut" of the series with all of the annoying filler (like the ogre episode) removed.
